The color of memories remain from an afternoon.

Here is a preview of the two days i spent in the giant fair space of earth: Rho.
There was an old industrial building block; named Spazio Ex Ansaldo in Via Tortona number 54, now turned into an exhibition area for young enterpreneurs. There were more graphic designers, photographers rather than designers. And all handmade products. I met with a photography team: Marvellini. They are re-producing old vintage photographs in photoshop by adding new-modern masks into peoples’ faces. New superheroes:) here is a trailer.

Connect4Climate is a campaign and a community that cares about climate change.
Carbon-neutral Italian company Alcantara held talks on sustainiblity collaborating with C4C on a huge pavillion at the Temporary Museum for New Design during Milan Design Week. Architect and art director Giulio Cappellini has designed the C4C/Alcantara pavilion using carbon-neutral materials.
I had the chance to be a guest on “Sustainable Fashion” panel. A big industry like fashoin, could be a sustainable tool to prevent the climate change? It is a fact that we are living the results of global warming right now. Since the labor market is increasing every year, fashion can provoke a big demand of sustainibility. We can provide new working fields by reusing the nature as new materials for fashion production in the third world countries. A win-win situation.
Here is the video of the panel.
Brera, Day 4
During the week it was all cold and rainy. Finally, the sun was shining on saturday and it was time to go to Brera.
Brera is more a classical Italian district between Lanza and the fashion neighborhood Montenapoleone. The exhibitions were much more professional comparing to Ventura Lambrate and Tortona. Most of them were promoting a collaboration of a reowned company and designers such as Missoni, Piero Lissoni, Zaha Hadid, Louis Vuitton.
What remained the most in my mind are Nendo’s collaborations with Ceasar Stone and Dilmos. Nendo’s Stone Edge table installation at The Academy was quite effective with the daylight reflections. Nendo also showed a mirror-table produced for Dilmos in three stages. First and second prototypes and the final product. There is a very senstive transition when the mirror becomes a table in the end.
I have to mention the LAGO Project. There was a long queue to see the project. Or should i say the appartment? It is an open-event held in a private living space. It is a large scale revolution which starts from sharing a new way of understanding systemic design, placing the individual in the centre and reinterpreting living spaces in all their complexity.
As every year, we were wondering what kind of an installation Foscarini prepared. Here is the giant space-ship look alike monster.
what happens if you leave dilek in a bookshop full of magazines and paper-crafts…
i discovered a super nice publishing house:Corraini Edizioni thanks to Anita. Thay are making child books, cards and special editions. Oh and I have a new design magazine to read now! Inventario. It is not actually a magazine or a book, they say that “it is a project”. Foscarini supports the magazine, thus there is no ads inside. An editor’s dream.
Design Library, in number 11, is a space combined with a magazine library with good coffee and buns. They also screened films and gave lectures during the design week.
